Relationships and love aren’t easy. Even if you feel as if you’ve found your soulmate, this doesn’t mean everything will be smooth sailing! But when times are tough, this also doesn’t mean you should just give up on the person you love.

“I Won’t Give Up” by Jason Mraz is one of the most popular songs about not giving up on love! In this 2012 hit song, Mraz sings about how he’ll never give up on his partner. He loves being with them. Even if things get difficult in the future, he’s not worried!

He sings the lyrics, “Well, I won’t give up on us / Even if the skies get rough / I’m giving you all my love.”

2. “Give to Live” by Van Halen

In “Give to Live”, Van Halen sings about a woman who has been hurt before in the past. As a result, she’s a bit wary about ever experiencing love again. She doesn’t trust easily and doesn’t seek romance as much as she did.

However, the band sings that if she truly wants to live, she can’t give up on love! They sing, “Don’t give up / If you want love.”

3. “Don’t Give Up” by Petula Clark

“Don’t Give Up” by Petula Clark is about love in general. Clark explains that many of us may want to run away when faced with love, especially if we’ve been hurt in the past. But Clark sings that we shouldn’t do this! Instead, we should face love and not give up on it.

She sings, “Don’t give up, don’t run away from it / Love will be yours in the end, my friend.”

4. “Mockingbird” by Ryan Adams

Ryan Adams’ 2005 song “Mockingbird”, which also features The Cardinals, follows a romantic relationship that seems to be coming to an end. As the singers describe this relationship, they explain their heartbreaking emotions while also talking about God and the Bible.

Adams says that he doesn’t think he’s loving his partner enough. As a result, their relationship may come to an end. But regardless, they all sing that no one should ever give up on love — as who knows when love may appear in their lives again!

They sing, “Love her in the ways that you want to be loved / Sometimes it ain’t enough / But don’t give up on love.”

5. “Keep It Between Us” by Kelly Rowland

In Kelly Rowland’s r&b song “Keep It Between Us”, she sings about her romantic relationship and how in love she is. She doesn’t want her partner to leave her or give his love to anyone else, so she tells him to keep all of their love between them.

However, she also sings about not giving up on love — and not giving up on her specific relationship. She sings the lyrics, “Not a thing in this world I won’t give up / Can’t live in this world if I’m not next to you.”

6. “Let Me Love You” by DJ Snake & Justin Bieber

DJ Snake and Justin Bieber’s hit song “Let Me Love You” also talks about not giving up on love! In this 2016 track, Bieber sings to an ex-girlfriend who seems to be leaving him. However, Bieber wants to work things out and explains that he’ll always be there for her, no matter what. He wants to fight for their love!

He sings, “Say, go through the darkest of days / Heaven’s a heartbreak away / Never let you go, never let me down.”

7. “Need Ur Luv” by Charli XCX

“Need Ur Luv” by Charli XCX follows the singer as she explains that she’s been hurt before in the past. Her ex has definitely put her through some hard times. However, she’s not going to give up on love and she even wants her ex back!

Even though she knows that romantic relationships can be hard, she’s willing to go through the pain to be in love!

8. “Go High” by Kelly Clarkson

In “Go High”, Kelly Clarkson sings about always being kind and spreading love — even when others do the exact opposite. When they go low, she’ll go high. So, while not specifically about romantic love, this song does still deal with spreading love. Clarkson also says she’ll never give up on love, or spreading the love!

She sings, “But I won’t give up / I’ll keep givin’ love / It runs through my blood / I’ll never give up.”

“Ain’t Gone ‘N’ Give Up on Love” by Stevie Ray Vaughan is one of the best songs about refusing to give up on love… even if you’d actually really like to. Vaughan explains that he’s not going to give up on love, even though he’s been hurt in the past.

He even sings that he’d like to give up on love from time to time. However, love refuses to give up on him!

“Don’t” by Shania Twain follows the country singer as she tries to fix a failing romantic relationship. Twain and her partner are obviously going through hard times. She wants to apologize and make amends, but she’s worried that her partner is going to end things.

In “Never Been Hurt”, Demi Lovato sings about being hurt in a past relationship. Even though they’ve faced these heartbreaks in the past, Lovato won’t give up now that they’re in a new relationship. They refuse to give up on love or let this past influence their future!

Mary J. Blige’s 2014 song “Worth My Time” discusses a committed relationship that goes through difficulties. Blige explains that she loves the person she’s with. However, she can’t lie and say that things are right. Things aren’t good between them. But she does want to make things work!

She sings, “But I won’t give up / Make it worth my time / We’ve been in it so long we forgot how it feels to divide / And I wanna stay.”

13. “I Am That Man” by Brooks & Dunn

“I Am That Man” by Brooks & Dunn, which appears on their 1996 album Borderline, explores a new romantic relationship. The duo talks about a girl who has been hurt in the past and now refuses to willingly seek out romance. Instead, she’s intent on waiting for the one — her soulmate — to come around.

And the singers say they are it! They won’t give up on her. The duo sings, “I am that man you had in mind / And I’ll give you all my love, ’til you understand / I won’t give up.”

14. “Completely” by Michael Bolton

1993’s “Completely” by Michael Bolton follows the singer as he explains that he wants to experience a great, romantic relationship. He doesn’t want someone who will just give them half of their heart. He wants someone who will truly love him with all of their heart!

And he won’t give up on his quest to find them. He sings the lyrics, “It’s all or nothing at all for this heart of mine / And I won’t give up this heart until the day I find / Somebody who can be someone who loves me.”

15. “West Coast” by Imagine Dragons

The rock song “West Coast” by Imagine Dragons is a love song about not giving up in a relationship, even if you’re personally struggling. The singer explains that he knows that he’s not perfect. He knows that he has his fair share of personal struggles. However, this will never interfere with the love he has for his partner.

As a result, he sings that he’ll never give up on his love. He says, “Oh, I know I’m worse for weather / But, my love, I won’t give up.”

“You Are Loved (Don’t Give Up)” by Josh Groban opens with the lyrics, “Don’t give up / It’s just the weight of the world / When your heart’s heavy I / I will lift it for you.”

As the song progresses, Groban sings to this person who seems to be going through a difficult time. Groban also sings about love and how this person just wants to be loved. However, he explains that they are loved — by him.

At last, we’ve got the last song on our list! “Forever Love” by Reba McEntire, released in 1998, finds the singer as she sings to the person she says she’ll love forever. Even if they end up leaving her, even if they are separated by years and distance, McEntire will always love this person. She’ll also never give up on their love!

She sings, “I won’t give up / No matter what / I’ll be waiting for you / Forever love.”
